Flyers
In pairs, create a haunted house for “sale”. Make a flyer to tell people about it and describe the house to your friends. Language Goal: Consolidate parts of the house. Develop speaking skills.
Candy Jar Guess
Guess how many candies there are in the jar. The winner or the one that says the closest number gets the jar! Language Goals: revise numbers.
Go Trick or Treating
Dress up in a creative costume and go around the neighborhood collecting treats from different houses. Language Goal: Learn about other cultures.
What’s in the Box?
Put your hands in the box. Touch an object. What do you think it is? If you guess, you get a sweet! Language Goal: Revise Halloween words.
Interviews!
Pretend you are going to interview a zombie or a vampire. Write ten questions you would ask him or her. Language Goal: Consolidate question formation.
Halloween Writing Prompts
Choose one of these prompts and write a story! 1. Write about the scariest thing that has ever happened to you. 2. Write about the worst nightmare you have ever had. 3. Write the story of yourself becoming a monster. 4. Write the story of a group of friends who become zombies. Language Goal: Develop narrative writing.
Picture Description
The Scream is a series of paintings by Evard Munch. Answer: What can you see in the picture? How does it make you feel? What do you think the artist is trying to express? Language Goal: Develop speaking skills.
